.....My mom is 75...... My Mom had the beginning stages of Alzheimer's when I left the CofC almost 10 years ago. Dad passed away 1.5 years ago from cancer. Our relationship was a bit strained when I left but it eventually got back on track. Don't let this disappointment screw up a relationship with...

Arrived home from after-school activities around 530pm - about the time Dad showed up from work. Rushed to slam supper down our throats then off we went to fight the traffic. There are mean people and gossips in all religions but with that being said, I think a lot of what we have experienced is due to the fact that most CofC'ers live in a sheltered/closed society - the congregation is their social life. Many years ago, I hired of fellow member of "the" Church....

Just happened to see the latest edition of The Gospel Advocate. An entire article on WWJP (What Would Jesus Post). Entire paragraph or two explaining how OMG was a sin.

Deep roots here as well. Grandfather was a successful cofc minister in multiple states, great uncle a well known cofc minister, father was an elder, cousins were deacons, and the list goes on and on and on. Before I left, I was a cofc deacon and on the fast track to become an elder at a fairly young...
