Welcome! I understand everything you are saying and it will get better with time. I was also in a rural hardcore COC when I left. It is tough especially dealing with family members.

Hildegard you said it perfectly! I left and waited years to speak my mind and tell my family what I thought. If I could do it over I would have walked out during services and announced why ;-)

When i was younger it was a guy named Max Dawson he was then replaced by someone with the last name Shane but thats all I can remember. My father, Tom, was an elder there with a guy named Mason Vint(sp?) for many years. We moved when i was 12 so that was over 35 years ago lol.

I was in Kokomo from 1970-1980. Is that about the time he was there?

I attended both the congregation in Kokomo, Indiana and Iuka, Illinois. Just out of curiosity is anyone here framiliar with either of these?

Hello all,
I must say that this board really hits home with me! I left the COC at age 20 and am now 47. My final straw was when I got married and my parents and sisters refused to come to my wedding due to my wife not being a member of the COC. TY for all of your support and for having this board!
