Were you Institutional, Non-Institutional, One Cup, Non-Sunday school, etc...what branch of CofC were you from. Maybe you can move a bit on the CofC scale to make it easier...but being a single male is hard to do in many CofCs. I have a family with me when we drop in to places and it makes it easie...

Welcome! We have at least one other poster who left the one-cup branch. I was in the non-institutional branch. I have been out a long time, and back then, our church was strict about many rules and my family rule was no pants on women. I didn't get my hair cut until my married sister trimmed it slig...

How horrible! I am sorry for you and your family. The VA really needs to do much better, and we need to give them the resources they need to change.

I have been wondering if Orthodox Christians pray to Mary and the other Saints. If yes, do they use the same "Hail Mary" prayer that Catholics use?
