Re: Charity story/question
In Texas, church property is exempt from property tax only if it is used for religious purposes. Some of you might remember that the Fundamentalist LDS (polygamists) once had a compound in my little west Texas county. Their huge temple was tax-exempt, but they paid their taxes on the rest of the pro...

Re: Explaining Islam_new topic
Sorry I got off topic! Agri, I did read through your info. Interesting that the story of Abraham has him attempting to sacrifice Ishmael. I had heard this before. B.H., are you going to do a pilgrimage to Mecca? One day I hope to. I read the pilgrimage was much smaller this year because of COVID. I...

Re: Explaining Islam_new topic
I guess churches that baptize babies do it to wash off “original sin”. I think some denominations do this. But others see Infant baptism as a sacrament of God, which admits the child into the church and which indicates the parents’ commitment that they will raise the baby in the family of God. Then...

Re: Explaining Islam_new topic
But doesn’t the COC baptize “in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost”?

I moved your post from New Paths-Christian to New Paths-Non-Christian. Because these are Support and Agreement sections. Thanks.
I am interested to hear the Muslim view that the Holy Spirit is the Angel Gabriel. Is this widely accepted or even in your scriptures?

Re: Has Anyone Had This Happen?
Wow Sola!! You resurrected an old thread. But a good one. We haven't seen roddma in ages...I hope they are ok. Old thread? Isn’t it dated this month? I think many people are attracted to the COC because their arguments sound good if you don’t examine them closely. They are experts at proof-texting....
