Re: Biggest lie told by CoC?

That they were established on the Day of Pentecost in A.D. 33. In reality, the modern coC can trace it's origin no further back than Barton Stone's Cane Ridge meeting in 1801. To claim more than that is gross prevarication. The coC isn't identified by that name until around 1906. They are from bein...

Re: Are baptized people told to renounce adulterous marriage?

The reasoning goes is that if you are a thief and steal a million dollars and later repent and get baptized but have spent the money you still have to pay it back or go to jail. You are pardoned but not parsoned. if you miss a stop sign and hit someone and hurt them and get baptized you still have t...

Re: Why is smoking/vaping a sin?

I thought of an old country song---maybe sung by the Gatlin Brothers I dont know. It goes something like this: Will there be smokin' and drinkin' in Heaven? Oh Lord if it won't Who the hell wants to go, I don't drink. Islam forbids it, and I haven't smoked a cigarette in maybe fifteen years. Weird. ...

Re: Are baptized people told to renounce adulterous marriage?

Yes, the harder position to hold and practice is always the theologically correct one.

You are to be shown mercy yet still shunned.

If a church does one thing wrong it is false and hell bound, except ours---its just human weakness.

Re: Message of Hate and discord

Bill Maher and others say he is quite logical and sticks to the subject behind the scenes when in discussions. All this disjointed verbal diarrhea is just to mimc and attract his followers who do indeed think like that.

Re: Paul's views on women.

It could very well be. Paul in I Corinthians is giving instructions about various things. I do not see why Ehrmann thinks its out of context but i could be wrong.
