Re: Praying for Trump?

Nancy Pelosi says she prays for him. You could give it a try! Sorry, but the image of Pelosi praying period, is difficult for me to get my mind around. That would be the equivalent of seeing Trump pray. I can’t envision such a thing from either one of them. I don’t see either one of them as God fea...

Re: Praying for Trump?

Y'all know that I'm not a Trump fan. My thoughts of him tend to be all negative. I try to avoid thinking about him or his family. That said, in my desire to develop spiritually...I wonder what would happen if I decided to pray for and bless Trump? Would that enable his dysfunction, or.....would it ...

Re: Wireless (air) Printers

I am kind of in the same boat as Cootie. My office stuff is upstairs also. I guess I am just tight. I'll just continue to have my wife email me what she wants printed and I'll go upstairs and get it. Simple 3 in 1 printer from Costco. :D

Re: The Mass Shooting Epidemic...how do we stop it?

You know, we did successfully phase out the cigarette smoking culture that existed for decades. Some people still smoke, but it is much less acceptable, and is certainly no longer "cool". Nonsmokers have demanded clean air to breathe, and smokers have been marginalized and relegated to th...

HaH! I actually saw some FB posts claiming that God wanted Alabama to win the SEC title game. And they were serious. Said they had prayed for it and they won because God wanted it to be so. There is no arguing with people like that.

Re: More Trouble For California Homeowners

Tarheel, these type of policies generally provide minimal coverage. The are almost always Actual Cash Value policies. rather than replacement cost, and the deductible is often a percentage of the loss and could range from 5% to 25%. Contents coverage is also often an optional coverage, A total loss...

Re: More Trouble For California Homeowners

Tarheel was correct about homes built on the coast. The government provides windstorm and flood coverage because the economic value of homeownership and tourism is greater than the losses. I think the government will provide fire insurance pools, similar to flood coverage, in these high risk fire a...

Re: More Trouble For California Homeowners

That makes a lot of sense. I've wondered myself about that. I've also wondered why they write homeowners coverage on beach houses. You know a hurricance is going to come and will cause significant wind damage. If they stopped writing coverage it would certainly discourage development along the coast...

Here is one other caveat to my earlier post. There are many pre-tax benefits that are subject to SS taxes. You didn't mention what yours was. Pull your W-2 from last year and look at boxes 1, 3 and 5. Box 1 is your wages subject to income taxes. This will be your wages less your pre-tax amounts. Box...

Also going through all the calculations to try to determine when to take social security is at best a crap shoot. The determining factor is when you kick the bucket and no one knows when that is going to happen. I go with just start when you reach full retirement age unless your financial situation...
