Re: If you keep one part of the law, you have to keep it all
...except not the Sabbath one EXCEPT that Sunday was the new Sabbath and we kept THAT... I heard this a lot too. But do they? I can't remember one COCer who would say that one should not work on Sunday, and I don't mean only outside-of-the-home, for-profit work, I'm referring to 'work' in the OT se...

Re: What does the COC think about Duck Dynasty?
The only comment I've heard from a COCer about the Duck Dynasty boys is that they need a haircut and they should stop drinking wine. Not having seen the show, I can't confirm the wine-drinking but I think we all know what their hair looks like.

Re: Visiting Other Churches
... What I am saying is that the COC preaches one thing with regard to their buildings--namely that, unlike "the denominations" they don't regard their buildings as holy but understand that they are just "expedients" to fulfilling the command to worship--and practices another th...

Re: Visiting Other Churches
KLP, I have to disagree. The COC absolutely does, in my experience, contradict itself on its approach to "the building." If they were consistently trying to get "safer and safer" because of some core belief that the building is "God's House," and must therefore be treat...

Re: Visiting Other Churches
That reminds me of how no one really had a problem with having a wedding at a Baptist, Methodist or Catholic Church, but you couldn't dare have your wedding at a COC because "God's house is for worshiping Him, not having weddings". This implied, of course, that their church was "God'...

Re: Visiting Other Churches
As a child growing up in C o C I was constantly reminded(as we all were) that any group not C o C was a "denomination"...and all its members were on a one way path to Hell. My COCs (all NI) went so far as to overtly describe members of the denominations as "Catholics, Baptists, Metho...

Re: http://findthechurch.com
I've seen church reviews on Google. When you use Google Maps to search for a church you can see reviews (if it has any) too. Some are very Yelp-like.

Re: http://findthechurch.com
Not all "weeks" are made up of seven days. Some cultures have divided the lunar month into longer or shorter periods than that. Of course now most people have adopted the seven-day week, probably because of Western influence, but it has not always been the only thing going.

Re: http://findthechurch.com
Don't want to risk going to hell because someone took a bit of cracker and grape juice on a Sunday night while you just sat there and did nothing... I never understood why, in the COC, the entire church doesn't just do the Lord's supper again on Sunday night. I asked this once in a Bible cla...
