Oh yes. EVERY congregation I ever attended split over something ridiculous. They would always claim it was a doctrinal dispute but that was always a cover for personal grudges and power struggles.

I read the book when it first came out 30 years ago and was terrified by it. I reread it recently and was terrified all over again, because it really could happen here. Thus, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the show, although I've heard it's really well done.

I clicked the first 2 responses. One parent came from a long line of Campbellites, the other converted into it before I was born.

Sounds like yall need to read that Fascinating Womanhood book. It is available at CofC bookstores and Amazon. I see they have an updated version now. The reviews on Amazon are a treat. I think I actually read that!!! It didn't work with me. :lol: Wait. Just looked at the date published.....1982.......
