Give me some ideas, help me out. There's the obvious gambling and whoring, but what else?

Lots of good shows to see, some with the talent wearing a costume and some without a costume.HamBiscuit wrote:How many sins can I commit?

My goal is to be a hot mess on the evening newsCootie Brown wrote:Lots of good shows to see, some with the talent wearing a costume and some without a costume.HamBiscuit wrote:How many sins can I commit?
Give me some ideas, help me out. There's the obvious gambling and whoring, but what else?Gambling, entertainment, and sex pretty much sums up why people go to Vegas.
Have fun, be safe, and try not to be on the evening news.
Thank you! When I go in early December, maybe there'll be discounts at buffets for Christmas.Ivy wrote:Oh, fun!! We get to sin vicariously!!
OK, I haven't committed many "sins of the flesh" in the past few years, so I'll have to ponder this. I think you've covered
lasciviousness , concupiscence, and gambling, right? So, those, of course. Oh, is your significant other going with, or are you leaving them at home?
Here's some more ideas:
* Drunkenness
* Greed
* Dancing
* Lust of the eye, pride of life.
* Gluttony (this one will be easy with all the buffets)
* Carousing
Don't disappoint us!!![]()
** Be careful while you're doing all this sinning; watch out for creeps. And have a good time!!
Thank you for all that! As far as it still being winter, GOOD I hate the heat. Dear lord, it's october and we've had 90 degree days here which is unheard of.agricola wrote:Whoring is actually not legal in Clarke County, Nevada. (where Las Vegas is).
Also locals call it 'Las Vegas'. (not 'Vegas'). Sometimes other Nevadans call it 'Lost Wages' which is unkind, but hey.
You can have a very good time for very little money. Just walk down the Strip and admire the outdoor shows and architecture. Food is relatively inexpensive in a lot of places. If you enjoy carnivals, visit Circus Circus and go to the carnival area - lots of rides, and free shows.
DEFINITELY walk through Caesar's Palace and watch the live action 'statues' in the fountain.
Fremont Street experience shouldn't be missed.
If you want any 'whoring' though - sorry. Women aren't allowed in brothels unless they are employed there, and anyway there are no brothels in Clarke Country. They are all out past the county lines.
You can, of course, gamble to your heart's content. You can spend far too much on frivolous purchases. You can see a lot of shows but some of them you need to buy your tickets WELL in advance, so check online and see what's available.
Also December is still 'winter'. Las Vegas may be warm, but it can also be chilly in the evenings, and it might get rainy in the mountains, which end up causing flash floods in the streets of Las Vegas, so be careful. Take a jacket.
Awesome! Thank you so much. I've been trying to decide places to go and things to do. Definitely interested in the dark sky area. I always enjoy dark skies in the mountains, but I'm sure it's a completely different experience in the desert.agricola wrote:Get your tickets right away.
If you want a desert experience, you can definitely get one - NEAR Las Vegas. It would be a good idea to search online for guide companies, for that. You want to be WELL away from the lights of the city, to truly see the dark night sky and see a real sunrise and sunset.
Maybe drive up as far as Great Basin National Park! It is only about four hours or so from Las Vegas, and it is a certified 'dark sky' area (nationally rated). The sky at night in the Nevada desert must be seen to be believed.
As for gambling - it is ENTERTAINMENT and not a way to make money. Set a budget for 'gambling' and set aside a time frame, and enjoy. You are spending 'entertainment' money. If you win, that's nice - if you lose, you were ENTERTAINED - and paid for it.
(Hambiscuit - I lived in northern Nevada almost forty years, and have been to Las Vegas several times - by the way, Death Valley is not too far away, and worth a December visit, also Red Rocks, and Lake Mead.)
(My youngest daughter lives there also).
