Greetings from another Exer

Post by GreyPhoenix »

Hi! Not sure what to say just yet. There's a lot of story to tell, but I don't know if I should tell it yet. I appreciate the anonymity here, so thank you for that up front. I've just found this board, though I have read some of the articles on the main site in the past. I have had a very long journey out of CoC, but last year at Easter I joined a local Methodist church after 5+ years of being unchurched and seeking. I have more peace than I have in years now, but I am also realizing how much more journey I have ahead of me to be healthy again. I hope this will be both a place to find support, and I hope to be a support to others along the way.

Hi there! Welcome!

I understand about the need for anonymity. I've often disguised identifying details. It's ok to lie here...ha!

Love their liberal theology, but not the social liberalism.

Welcome to the board! Methodists are practically normal, as far as I can tell. Feel free to share in New Paths.
History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.
