Jesus trip to Egypt, what do you remember was taught?
Re: Jesus trip to Egypt, what do you remember was taught?
Jesus birth stories are a lot like the conversion of Paul and whether he went to Arabia for a few years or not. In one gospel Jesus is born and high tails it to Egypt then comes back and goes to Nazareth. In another it seems he never went anywhere. In Acts it's is written in such a way Paul converts and immediately starts preaching and teaching. In an epistle it says he spent a few years in Arabia.

Also this type of discussion may allow a person to still have faith/believe but realize there is no one right answer to any question and they must interpret religious writings in light of the time and culture they were written. As we study this we see the CoC is not the only church that teaches the truth but rather is one that greatly distorts the truth.
My childhood idol and still idol today is Albert Schweitzer who after finishing his doctorate in theology realized that Jesus was simply wrong, the world he thought about to end didn't. However he still fully embraced more than anyone the teachings of Jesus that the best path in life was helping others and being honest.

Schweitzer was a pretty cool dude. Even Jesus is made to say"if you don't believe in me believe in what I do"
