Things that used to be COC sins but aren't anymore

A place to snark and vent about CoC doctrine and/or our experiences in the CoC. This is a place for SUPPORT and AGREEMENT only, not a place to tell someone their experience and feelings are wrong, or why we disagree with them.

One is in your birthday suit and the other in your bathing suit. How about a Burqini?

Sorry...wondering off topic. I actually know some cofc folks who are offended by the use of art work/images in PowerPoint sermons but being they are "liberals" they are OK with fellowship halls and parties at church, just can't get past that PowerPoint thing though.
Isn't the world wonderful...I am all for rational optimism and I am staying positive.

Am I reading this wrong?
There is a church of Christ in our region that won't fellowship with most of the other congregations. The have red stamped all the pages in their song books that mention praying or talking to Jesus with the words "do not sing!" The reasoning is that we should be praying to God not Jesus. I'm not sure how it is supposed to make sense.

Our congregation has all the things mentioned above, plus PowerPoint. But we don't have hand clapping or praise teams, so we're all right.

Pray through Jesus, not directly to Him.

PowerPoint is okay for a sermon but it's sacrilege to read the Bible via phone or tablet. Must be book form and NKJV.

And certain songs were edited. Older hymns were forbidden because of denominational use, and we must never look like one of those dirty, nasty denominations.

LOL, these sound like the coc's commandments list! :P

Funny I couldn't go to the prom because there would be dancing which would lead to instant fornication.

But it was okay for the elders daughter to go.
