I'm Free--The Who

I'M FREE- I'm free,
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free-I'm free,
AN' I'm waiting for you to follow me.

If I told you what it takes
to reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say 'nothing's that simple'
But you've been told many times before
Messiahs pointed to the door
And no one had the guts to leave the temple!

I'm free-I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality
I'm free-I'm free
And I'm waiting for you to follow me.

This song is in memory of the terror we felt during the COC efforts to bring us back into the fold, and then our relief when they finally gave up.

ANSWER THE PHONE
(Cindy Walker)

Sung by Ernest Tubb - 1955

So Answer The Phone when it rings, darlin’
And if somebody knocks let them in
You don’t have to be afraid that it’s me
‘Cause I’ll never bother you again...

Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me
For I must be travelin' on now
There's too many places I got to see

If I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change

Bye and bye baby, it's been sweet love, yeah yeah
Though this feelin' I can't change
Please don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows, I'm to blame

And if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't even be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change

Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Lord I can't change
Won't you fly high free bird yeah

I've seen you in action, so what's the problem now?
get out of your own way, it's time to go all out
awake in this reality, there's more than one
just fill your heart with innocence
then rediscover what your rocket fuel is made of

no need to run, I'm a special agent miss
should you decide you're your personal alchemist
go ahead and charge it on my credit card
take it easy on yourself, because it gets a little hard
just a little hard
go and get what you've so long awaited
I know that you're more than this

I'll give you a roland for his oliver
I'm licensed to kill you for damage you incur
reshape your own reality, there's more than one
I've seen you cross the Rubicon
come on, show me what your rocket fuel is made of

no need to run, I'm a special agent miss
you need to know you're your personal alchemist
go ahead and charge it on my credit card
take it ease on yourself, because it gets a little hard
just a little hard
go and earn what you've so long awaited
I know you'll do more than this, mmm
I know you'll do more than this

no need to run, I'm a special agent miss
you need to know you're your personal alchemist
go ahead and charge it on my credit card
take it ease on yourself, because it gets a little hard
just a little hard
go and earn what you've so long awaited
I know you'll do more than this
go and get what you've so long awaited

Tom Petty, Time to Move On

It's time to move on, time to get going
What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing
But under my feet, baby, grass is growing
It's time to move on, it's time to get going

Broken skyline, movin' through the airport
She's an honest defector
Conscientious objector
Now her own protector

Broken skyline, which way to love land?
Which way to something better?
Which way to forgiveness?
Which way do I go?

It's time to move on, time to get going
What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing
But under my feet, baby, grass is growing
It's time to move on, it's time to get going

This one may be obvious and cheesy. When I first really listened to the song "Let It Go" from Frozen, I cried until my eyes were red because it fit so well at a crucial time.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation,
and it looks like I'm the Queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in;
Heaven knows I've tried

Don't let them in,
don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel,
don't let them know
Well now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care
what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway

It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all

It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me,
I'm free!

Let it go, let it go
I'm one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand
And here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway!

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted to one time to see you laughing
I only wanted to see you
Laughing in the purple rain

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
I only wanted to see you
Bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend
Baby, I could never steal you from another
It's such a shame our friendship had to end

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
I only wanted to see you
Underneath the purple rain

Honey, I know, I know
I know times are changing
It's time we all reach out
For something new, that means you too

You say you want a leader
But you can't seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain

Purple rain, purple rain
Purple rain, purple rain
If you know what I'm singing about up here
C'mon, raise your hand

Purple rain, purple rain
I only want to see you
Only want to see you
In the purple rain
