Different Bibles?

Does anyone ever remember anything being said in the CoC about Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons using a different Bible (which of course they do).

When I was growing up initially the KJV was really the only one widely used, then in the late 60's people started bringing the New American Standard and New International versions to church, perhaps with others. The preachers didn't complain much about them just said they thought the KJV was a more accurate translation. But I never remember any talk about the Catholics having additional books in their Bible or the JW and Mormons using ones with some very different material.

I don't remember there being a lot of talk about the differences in Bibles either, but growing up, the KJV was definitely the go-to in church. I think most people just saw it as the most reliable. There was some mention of other versions like the NASB and NIV in the '70s, but it wasn’t a big deal – the preachers mostly just said they thought the KJV was a bit more accurate. The whole thing with Catholics, JW, and Mormons having different Bibles wasn’t really a focus either. It was kind of just understood that those groups had their own take on things, but it wasn't something people really got into during services.
