I'm sorry I haven't been by this board in while. Apparently long enough that I had to register again!
For those who don't know (or remember) me, I was raised NI coc and have been out for about 20 years. I took the "easy' way out - moved 13 hours away and stopped attending church. Still had to deal with family issues but no church stalking. Even there, I was lucky. My mom loved her kids more than just about anything and would stand with them no matter what - even if she didn't approve. My mom passed away two years ago and with her my last real ties to the church since she was about the only reason I would attend when I visited home. I do still have family in the coc and my sister is the most vocal about my coming back but her opinion of me holds very little value (long story there and this isn't a support board for dealing with narcissist personalities).
Anyways, I am so glad that this board is still here! I have gotten so much support and value out of it over the years.
The Walk of Shame

Hi Kid - sorry to hear about your mom.
But you may certainly complain about your sister over in some of the other forums. Enjoy!

History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.
Re: The Walk of Shame
Welcome back. The board has crashed a few times, so everyone had to start over. Not that I understand the technicalities of how the board works...but that is what I was told. We don't disfellowship our members when they forsake our electronic assembly!

Sorry to hear about your mother.
Our stories are very similar.
I'm fairly new to these parts, but welcome back!
