Hi here
I am hoping this group may bring some much needed processing with people who have also experienced toxic faith and religious abuse as well as the sexism that is part of the Church of Christ system. Ive done a lot of recovery, but continue to find it painfully effecting me almost daily. I hope to help others and gain help from those further along than me in recovery. Glad to be here. K

History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.

We walk the same path it seems. A path of rejection, ridicule and pain when leaving "the church." No one can understand unless they have walked in our shoes. We reach out for help and some just laugh and say "thats ridiculous! don't feel that way! you know your not going to hell!" Well, those of us that has walked this hard line know the pain is so real and deep and SCARY!!! May we lean on each other as Jesus shows us His way!
