That looks like a church of christ website. There is a book called traces of the kingdom listed that claims there were churches of christ in England in the 1100's.

I've seen that claim on some websites as well. It's sad they believe that. Any church that used the name "Church of Christ" before the restoration movement wasn't the coc as we know it. The only thing in common was the name

I did a study of some of these "Church of Christs" and their preachers and at least one still believed miracles happened one other had a very Baptist view of salvation and church government. He even used catechisms.

As church names go, "Church of Christ" is bound to pop up now and then throughout history given its mention in the Bible (Rom. 16:16!) and its simplicity. It's a bit like the name "Bob Smith." If every Bob Smith got excited and amazed at the coincidence whenever he met another Bob Smith, he'd be insane. Now, if John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith were to run into someone with the same name, maybe we'd have a relative.

There are Mormon splinter groups who call themselves Church of Christ and a few holiness churches that do so too. Even in Catholic literature you'll find the Catholic Church calling itself Church of Christ.

Yup! I've ran across those too. But of course they think they're the originator because of the ridiculous ad 33 claim.

Back to the book, it seems like an obscure writing, maybe self published? It's not readily available through online retailers

The controversial Scriptures for America folks out in Colorado call themselves Church of Christ. It was founded and headed up by the late Pastor Peter J Peters, who was more or less, another Fred Phelps.
